Are swans more aggressive than geese?

    Depends on the birds and what they are protecting. Both are good guard birds. Both will protect their flocks (other animals they are "family" with). I have witnessed a pair of swans, chase off a bobcat, and geese chase off several stray dogs.

    WWT's research shows that swans are no more or less aggressive than other birds. ... Geese also have a reputation for aggression.

    Both can be really aggressive. Most swans are large and when paired up or nesting stay away from them, they will go out of their way to get a person, same with geese.

    my dog chased some swans in the lake and they lunged at her. she has been scared of swans ever since

    They sure look like it swans can often be seen being aggressive even violent but geese unless they are hiding it are not aggressive but defend themselves when need be.

    Probably a tossup but swans can do more damage to you.
