4x4 question ?

I go off-roading and mudding all the time. But never really been to the snow. On asphalt I know there’s a bit of 4x4 wobble. Would it be like that on black ice? Or would 4x4 help on ice?

The 4x4 will get you going on ice, but you will not stop or corner any better.  If you wobble on pavement , you will wobble on ice.  And it can be worse because the lateral traction is less.

For black ice, snow tires are what you need.  Soft compound with silica.  About half the stopping distance of all season tires.  4x4 helps you go, but doesn't help stop.  I'd take a 1986 Hyundai with snow tires over a 2021 Bronco with all seasons, or mud tires on ice.

Nothing better than 4x4 on snow and ice. I live in rural MI
