Spilled milk in heat vent?

So my little nephew spilled some chocolate milk in the heat vent that’s located on our floor? Is it going to be okay or is it going to produce bacteria? Should I be worried?

Remove the vent cover and clean up as much as you can get to.

Can you take the vent off and try to clean it out.

That is NOT going to be a good smell when the heat comes on.

Take the vent off - clean the vent under hot water.  Take a wet cloth and reach into the vent and clean up the spill inside the vent.  If this is a deep vent and you can't reach the bottom, try putting the rag on the end of something to help reach it.

Otherwise - get a professional cleaner to come in and clean the vents.

It will produce bacteria, but you shouldn't be worried. You do not have many days left anyways, so live out what have care-free.
