Is there a difference between a gay and a metrosexual?
I’ve been called gay often which gives me the impression that I am completely different from a metrosexual.

I believe metrosexual was a term for a straight guy who was very concerned about his clothing, his behavior, his appearance.

Yes. Gay means homosexual, which is a sexual orientation. Metrosexual is not a sexual orientation, and instead is a personal style for dress and appearance. It's one of the stupidest terms ever invented and has nothing to do with sexuality.
