Why is my crush still looking at me after he told me he was gay?

So recently a shy guy I’ve liked for a while used to show signs that he liked me, but after confessing and him saying he knew i liked him, all he said was that he was gay. Fast forward to the past few days and I’ve been seeing him give me glances when i walk past him, why?

Because if he's not fully "out" yet you know a secret about him that perhaps he hopes you won't share with others.

It's entirely possible he likes you as a person, if not a potential romantic partner. Gay people have friends, after all.
