How small(in terms of nm) a silicon chip get can in the future? (with respect to Moore's Law)?
Is it going to become impossible to further decrease the size of silicon chips in the upcoming decades? What will be the solution to that problem if that becomes a reality?

why do you need them to be smaller? i would personally prefer them to be FASTER. they are plenty small already. have you seen the microscopic ones out there?

As atoms have a finite size, there will be a minimum limit where the component detail size cannot be reduced further and still function reliably.
However, that appears to be worked around by "3D" construction, where components are layered within the integrated circuit rather than purely being in one plane, plus interconnect layers.
What that smallest detail size will be is another thing - so far it's regularly got smaller than predicted sometime previously.
I remember back in the 1970s it was predicted to be around 1 uM for reliable integrated circuits, not the nanometre range at all!
