Find the emf generated.?
A shunt generator supplies a load of 5,500 W at 110 V through a pair of feeder conductors having a resistance of 0.02 ohm each. The armature, shunt field resistances are 0.15 ohm and 50 ohms, respectively.

We know the voltage at the load = 110V
We know V*I = 5500 so I into the load = 5500/110 = 50A
Therefore the voltage drop over the feeder conductors = 50*(0.02+0.02) = 2V
Thus the voltage across the shunt field = 110+2 = 112V
The current into the shunt field = 112/50Ω = 2.24A
By KCL the current leaving the armature = 50+2.24 = 52.24A
Therefore 112 = emf - 52.24*0.15Ω
emf = 112 + 52.24*0.15Ω = 119.836V or about 120V
