Why do station call letters use w & k?
Wouldn't it be better to use w on the west coast and see on the east

By international Agreement, Station Call letters were assigned to each country.
W and K were assigned to the United States

It was a decision made in the early days of radio and has nothing to do with geography.

That's what the FCC came up with when they were assigning call letters. W east of the Mississippi, and K west of the Mississippi.
