What are his actions and what motivates him, those two things are key.

I would describe him as an idiot to risk death for a cause and political viewpoint that's forever changing.
Take the soldiers who died in WW2; they would have had no idea that Britain would become best buddies with Germany after the war and be the underdog, despite winning the war, or that foreigners that they fought so desperately to keep out of Britain would be invited here in 1948: just three years after they gave up their lives!

Shakespeare has done it - in Macbeth, when his protagonist meets the final attack with:
Ring the alarum-bell! Blow, wind! come, wrack!
At least we'll die with harness on our back.

Bloody optimistic. My grandfather was considered a very brave man. And what happened to him, eh? He got gassed, fragged, etc. and THEN - a French General kissed him. On both cheeks. Kissed him twice. He had a lifelong hatred for the French.

To answer the question asked directly & not editorialize, here are two sentences as requested with a required reference to the source of the second sentence:
A brave soldier is a paragon of courage, strength and virtue.
The virtuous soldier acts justly, loves mercy and walks humbly with their God.
(The reference to justice, mercy & humility is from the Christian Bible, Micah 6:8.)

Naturally, any answer is going to have to emulate your "style", so here's something:
"soldier man was very brave he run to him enemies and kill lots an he was not scared at all. then soldier man waves flag on top of hill and say he won".
Hope this helped.

The only way you know a soldier is brave is when you observe him doing whatever it is that's brave.
But when he's not doing that, he's likely to be just like any other soldier, a complex person with strengths and weaknesses, hopes and disappointments, and all that baggage every human has.
You could describe medals he wears on his dress uniform, or the admiration of other soldiers when they meet him, but describing a brave soldier during times when he's not being brave is beyond me.
