Simplify each expression by writing as a single logarithm. State restrictions on any variables.

log(2x^3 - 7x + 6) - log(x^2 + 2x - 8)

log[(2x^3 - 7x + 6)/(x^2 + 2x - 8)].

Both of the quantities whose log was to be taken must be positive.

That will be true only if x > 2.
