I dont think its just the virus that is causing this control. Something else has to be behind this

There are many conspiracy.

Possibility:-

1. A promotion of Christianity ( see Revelation Chapter 15 and 16 )

2. Oppressed political organizations such as Hamas, ISIL etc are fighting back

3. Hacker groups are force people to further live in internet so that they can harvest greater rewards.

4. Human caused the melting of frozen zones to release that ancient virus

etc.
