Biden's proposed bill, if passed, would remove the word "alien" from US immigration laws, replacing it with the term "noncitizen." – Why? ?

First, these folks are not ‘non-citizens’. That term is a dismissive slight of its own. They are, in fact, citizens … of a foreign country. They are ‘foreign’ which any dictionary defines as ‘alien’ because they legally owe allegiance to another country. CNN claims wording has ‘HUGE’ symbolic significance instead of being degrading. Really?? The word 'illegal' should still be used as it does apply. 

On a separate note: Isn’t CNN still trying to eliminate ‘huge’ from common use since it was one of Trump’s favorite words?

Makes sense because aliens is for extraterrestrials, we have yet to have that visitor, but if he were to show up, ET must be treated with great respect and processed with dignity.

The global governance crowd eventually wants to do away with all borders.  That is being set up now in all countries very gradually.  The whole world is in a state of chaos and when it hits the boiling point in enough places at the same time, it will begin because people will beg for peace.  You even have George Soros paying to get none law abiding attorney generals and prosecutors who let the criminals have free reign and are more likely to prosecute people who use self defense.  These are twisted people who don't want anyone to have rights who believe they actually have rights.

Either term is accurate, and fine with me.

The focus shouldn't be on language used to describe the people in question, but how to handle them in a way beneficial to both them and the US people/government.

Keeping in mind we can't possibly accommodate everyone.

There will be a whole laundry list of “verboten” words and phrases.  Expect them to attempt criminal punishments for incorrect utterances.
