My veins in my left calf ache before my period. Is it something to worry about? ?

I'm soon 44. In the last 3 months, the vein in my left calf is painful a few days before my period and it makes me slightly breathless. 

Is this PMS? Or early sign that menopause is coming? 

Or could be something else? 

Should I worry? 

Where I live it's impossible to get to the doctor, when I first had it, they said to send a photo. Obviously I can't take a photo of pain, they said to take ibuprofen.
