My mom does sometimes.  My grandparents did.  I try not to speak English around my son but it can be rude if my wife is around.  My dad doesn’t speak anything aside from English so my son uses mostly English when he talks

I was born in India and so were my parents. My family moved to England in 1962. A lot of people have expressed surprise that I don't speak any of the Indian languages. This is because, while Dad spoke 2 languages, and Mum 3, English was the one they had in common. Also everyone in our community in India spoke it.
