Very little gold left in Ft. Knox thanks to Nixon. The US lost Germany's gold stored in a vault on Manhattan Island, round up the usual suspect, Red China. Off topic but recent theory suggests that gold is only made in colliding neutron stars.

Fort Knox is a U.S. Army base.  Anyone with a Military ID card can go on the base.

The Gold Reserve (Vault) is also located on the base and a restricted area. No Visitors.
