How do I benefit from taking the exams of toefl and IELTS?

What are their differences and similarities?

    You benefit from meeting requirements to apply to the university of your choice. Most US universities will only accept the TOEFL exam. So taking the IELTS exam won’t benefit you at all.

    The TOEFL is an American test and specifically geared toward skills for attending a university in the U.S. IELTS is British, and is used as a qualification for jobs as well as school. It's less academic in focus and more transatlantic- inclusive of both US and British dialects. Both are now taken by many universities.
