Why is my laptop cooler after cleaning the fan?

I opened up my laptop to dust my fan and everywhere else. I used a vacuum to suck to dust after brushing it slightly with a make-up brush. I checked on my laptop and it was cooler than usual, why is this?

The dirt was blocking air flow.  Not as much air was getting through the vents if there is dirt blocking them.  Also the fan can not move as much air if it is dirty.  Air flow is what cools your computer.

one time i forgot my iPad in the fridge and it was very cold. did you leave your  laptop in the fridge mabe??
