A tuning fork vibrating with a frequency of 950 Hz is held near the end of an open air column that has been adjusted

to its first resonant length at 25.0 oC. How long is the tube in centimetres?

speed of sound v = (330+0.6*25)m/s = 345 m/s

wavelength λ = v/f = 345m/s / 950Hz = 0.363 m

first resonance: L = λ/4 = 0.0908 m = 9.08 cm
