Of course. When I was young our friend owned a convertible caddy with a trunk that could fit 5.

Never snuck into the drive-in, but have watched movies from outside the fence.  Parents dragged us to stock auctions on the weekend, and the auction house was next to the drive-in.  Watching a movie without sound was preferable to watching people bid on cows.

We used to sit on the roof of a house next door. You could hear the audio from all of the cars.
