Can ureaplasma urealyticum be spread by toilets or other stuff?
I’m sexually inactive and so is my boyfriend and our roommate. I had recurring yeast infections and my roommate had smelly discharge so we went to a gynecologist and she took swabs and we tested positive for ureaplasma urealyticum but the gynecologist said we have different strains because they are susceptible/ resistant to different antibiotics. My boyfriend also tested positive and his antibiotic susceptibility/resistance was different that both of ours
And again none of us have ever engaged in sexual intercourse
Could it be that we each caught it from different sources or we caught the same one but it mutated in our bodies in different ways?
Also how can we catch it without sexual intercourse
I’m suspecting my roommate and I maybe caught it at a waxing salon where they double dipped
