1) Very often he behaves well.
2) He very often behaves well.

While "Very often he behaves well" and "He very often behaves well" are both grammatically correct, they should be more appropriate as: "He behaves well very often".

The second one should be:
He behaves well very often.
You cannot split the noun and the verb like that.
