A standpipe 5m in diameter and 10 m high filled with water. Calculate the potential energy of the water if the elevation datum is taken 2 m below the base of the standpipe

    Volume V = 0.7854*5^2*10  m^3

    mass m = 0.7854*5^2*10^4 kg

    GPE = m*g*(h+2)/2  = 0.7854*5^2*10^4*9.806*7 = 1.35*10^7 joule (13.5 Mjoule)
