Question about medication?

What could be reasons that a NDC number would change on a medicine that is the same type and generic brand?

Two years ago I was taking clonazepam by par and then switched to teva and now just switched back to par and noticed the NDC number is different than it was.

It could be due to updates.

The NDC number identifies the labeler, product, and trade package size.  If any of these changed, the code would change.
