What is One way humans can help a prairie ecosystem after a wildfire?

    Come back a few years later and set another fire.  Grasslands tend to undergo ecological succession to forest unless they're regularly burned.

    Leave the ecosystem alone and let nature do her job.

    Check to see what kind of grass is growing in that area and then fly over with an airplane and drop a few tons of seed. That will hold the prairie together and things will begin to grow again

    A fire is normal to the prairies .  It keeps trees and brush in check and clears old growth as well as fertilize the ground .
