Why did I get a high surge of LH levels if I am on Birth Control?

I have been on bc for a while like two years. And lately I have been getting my period earlier on the third week of the bc pack. However, I decided to take ovulation test to see if I am starting to ovulate again and yesterday I had a peek of LH levels and today I had a high surge of LH.

Birth control doesn't affect your LH.
