“Down under”is just a colloquial saying these days. It no longer refers to Australia as a prison colony. They are a sovereign nation under the British Commonwealth.

There is no previous revelation or award of freedom. A larger part, nonetheless, believed that it was adequate that the Act had been passed in dependence on Constitution, which gives the Commonwealth Parliament influence to administer in line with the state parliaments.

What are the advantages of leaving the British Commonwealth.  So we can call our Prime Minister our President and there is no longer a Governor General is the only advantage I can see.

What are the advantages of leaving the British Commonwealth.  So we can call our Prime Minister our President and there is no longer a Governor General is the only advantage I can see, but few think about the disadvantages.  Now Brexit has gone through Britain is turning towards trade with its loyal British Commonwealth countries again such as Australia and New Zealand.  Few seem to also remember the Faulkland Islands, a very small British colony at the bottom of the Atlantic which was attacked by Argentina.  Now most would think a small group of islands so far from England would not be worth the trouble to go to war over but Britain loaded up its military on ships and came to defend its loyal country and kicked Argentina out of the Islands.  Being in the British Empire does have some degree of protection as if we were invaded I am sure Britain would help save us as well.

Britain does not rule us, and all we have in expenses for them is to roll out the red carpet once in a while when a royal comes for a visit.  The women love it when there is a royal visitor.  I think it is just a bunch of w@nkers who seem to think we would be better off leaving the British Empire, who seem to think having a President is somehow sounding more impressive than having a dull old Prime Minister.  President Trump is no longer running America so perhaps we could get him in as first President of Australia.  There is nothing to be gained by ousting Liz and Chuck from our country's figuregead and possibly a lot to lose.

Independence in the form of Federation was granted on January 1, 1901

Full autonomy in international affairs was granted in principle, in 1931, and formalised in 1942.  This was through the Statue of Westminster at the imperial conference, and the adoption Act of the Federal Parliament.

All other rights of the British government to interfere with Australian law (directly or indirectly) ceased with the Australia Acts in 1988
