Aspirated a peanut? ?

I was eating a peanut the other week and I laughed and I think I accidentally inhaled the peanut. I didn’t choke or cough or anything when it happened so I’m not sure if it was swallowed or went down the “right way” I coughed for a little after it happened with the feeling of something in my throat but never developed any symptoms.. could I have inhaled the peanut or not?

Thanks!

No, first its too big to go far (not to the lungs) and then you would be coughing so hard you would need to heimlich practically. So no not anywhere in the trachea. Your epiglottis is what protects the airway, seems to have worked.

    you could have.

But apparently it caused no problems if you did.
