will scanning your phone with a new anti virus software get rid of any viruses or do u have to take to phone repair place?

I've never gotten a virus on the phone.  If you really think you have one, back up your data and reset the phone.  Then check for a virus.  This will require you to setup anew.

Not a hundred percent sure that will remove one.  Can a virus infect the reset part of the phone?  Don't know.

Why do you think you have a virus? BTW, virus is not the correct term for today's infections.

What are your symptoms that make you think you are infected? What Operating system is your phone? Android/Apple iOS?

From experience, if a virus can't be removed by a restart, it surely can be eliminated with a reset.

Depends on the virus, but most viruses can compromise your AV software to prevent you from removing it
