Because governments are paying them to provide it.
It's your tax money that's paying, after all.

Governments are paying big Pharma (with your tax dollars) and not directly charging you.

First of all, it's a lot more important right now to get people vaccinated and not worry about profits--second, the government and insurance companies have paid for the vaccine already. Profits to both companies may be a little less than if they simply charged everyone, but not by much. Trust me--those big pharm companies will make plenty of money.

The federal government has already paid for vaccine for every American, and pretty much 12 million Mexicans.

They sell it to the government, not individual suppliers. In some areas, the people that administer it are charging if you have insurance that will cover it.
