I am having good luck with "silk" and "plastic" and dried out plants. I have read the "Corpse flower" is a good plant (for a friend you don't like)

Pothos, or devil's ivy is the most carefree and hardy houseplant you can buy. They require low light, thrive on neglect, and can live through a lot of abuse. Another one is Sanseveria--"mother-in-law's tongue". Both are easy plants to own.

I am partial to the plastic ones. My wife has only killed one. The only care they require is an occasional dusting.
