Can some1 give specifics of the 1924 immigration act? And details of the national origins formula? How did it work and what did the bill say?

It limited immigration based on existing proportions from other countries.  So it established quotas for how many immigration slots each country would get, and those quotas were based on the proportion of people already in the US who were descended from that country.  So England and the rest of Britain got the most, Northern and Western Europe came next, and other regions were more restricted (It didn't actually apply to the Western hemisphere nations).  At the time, people were concerned about changing demographics in the US.  Through the first century of the countries existence, most of the immigrants had come from the British Isles or Northern and Western Europe: English, Scottish, Irish, Germans, Swedes, etc.  But in the late 19th and early 20th centuries we began getting much more immigration from Southern and Eastern Europe: Italians, Greeks, Serbs, Poles, Russians, Eastern European Jews etc.  These people were more culturally distinct from the older immigrants and set off more angst from native born Americans.  They also worried about the sheer numbers.  By the 1920s immigrants and their children made up a larger percentage than ever before (it's now the second largest as more Americans today are either immigrants or the children of immigrants)

Why not LOOK IT UP YOURSELF.  The internet is useful for more than just free porn.   Seriously, stop asking for your opinion and make one on your own by researching the facts.

Is this homework?   If so, you are in the wrong category.

@Your President - You are lying.  The founding fathers immigration law - 1790 naturalization Act provided citizenship to white people who were here for 2 years.

1865 was the first time conservatives passed racist anti immigrant laws, the "Chinese exclusion act" and all our modern immigration laws are based on that.  The founding fathers immigration law was if you were here two years you could become a citizen.
