Why we should rejoin a reformed EU?

TODAY a MEP said ." we will make the EU more attractive

to be a member of and  reform ourselves.

yes, the leave vote took us all by surprise  and now we see that one country out of 28 have left the EU  and so would be wise to avoid other countries quitting the EU although i bet it would not be the poorer countries who quit the EU.

The prime objective of the Common market  / and then the EU ,has always been the same ---  the political union of Europe ,having one government ,one currency ,and having common foreign and domestic policies throughout.

Unfortunately , due to the wide differences in the economies and social  heritages of the countries making up the EU , the EU looks ,and behaves, more  like the infamous camel ,that was produced by a committee tasked with designing  a race horse.

The countries in the EU are still much too disparate to have much more than economic trade links -- and those tensions will remain ,even now that  the UK has given up it's "political ties" with them

There are a lot of improvements that could be made to the EU.  The UK could have taken its membership seriously and participated fully in order to bring this about, but instead we insisted on shouting from the doorway.  Having seen the lousy deal the UK has got, no-one else is going to want to leave, reform or not.

Racists won't be interested, that's why the turkeys voted for Christmas in the first place.

Because you will see how quickly the 'rich' country that quit the EU starts getting poor.
