Because no one would live under communism of their own volition.

Those evil dictators in China, Soviet, North Korea, etc, have discredited communism . Actually, Communism 's original idea is good.
Those evil dictators(tyrants) like China's dictator xi and NK 's dictator Kim, want to enjoy absolute privilege by oppressing their people. In other words, those evil countries like China are in fact not true Communism , but dictatorship or tyranny because Communism must prioritize equality. Communism is just the fig leaf of those tyrannic regimes. So now, unfortunately, the definition of communism basically equals dictatorship like China and North Korea, mistakenly though.

Communism itself is not a dictatorship, it's an economic system. But to keep the economy communist, it requires a one-party system (communist party) which in turn leads to totalitarianism. The far left of the US wants to eliminate the Republican party entirely so that we become a one-party country.

Duh. Communism IS a dictatorship. No freedoms. Communism is a failed social experiment and has never worked no matter where it was tried, or how smart the people who tried it were. It can't work when you have unique humans with brains.
