It's one of my favorite things to do.  We backpack a lot, and camping in remote locations is the best way for me to enjoy the outdoors.  I love being miles away from the rest of civilization.

Yes but that was years ago.  The old places I used to go are posted with

no trespassing signs.

As a kid yes, now though, around here, you have to go to a frigging camp ground. All that deep woods crap is private property and stuff now.  Just like as a kid I could walk through the woods to different ponds and go fishing, or clear the ice and play hockey. Now they are all private property and have been developed and such. Where in the states can you still just go out in the middle of nowhere like that?
