Did inuyasha surpass his father?

To me yes and I have 4 reasons why.

1. He defeated Ryukotsusei(even if he was slightly weaker.)

2. After adding his fang to Tessaiga and getting use to his fixed sword, inuyasha can now fire stronger windscars instantly.

3. He learned the true nature of the Dragon scale Tessaiga(and Tessaiga as a whole) which was to cut demonic energy, not absorb it.

4. Finally(either Toga couldn't control it or he didn't have a use for it.) Inuyasha created his own variation of the meido zangetsuha and it's very powerful ability.

Overall, inuyasha may not be as powerful as his dad. But he is so powerful that only Sesshomaru can truly defeat him.

I don't know about surpass, but he came into his own power.

His father's demon dog form was a giant.  However, I've never seen Inuyasha's size increase, even when he's powered-up.  Of course, he's still half-human.  So, its hard to say when, or if he'll ever surpass his father.

He cut Sesshomarus' arm off, he was afraid.
