    They both mean the same thing, but the first one needs some help. 

    You could say:

    Trees give us oxygen.

    Trees provide oxygen for us.

    Trees provide us with oxygen..

    Trees provide us WITH oxygen.

    No, it's not the same thing. The first says that trees provide oxygen to us. The second just says they provide oxygen. But it could be to someone/thing other than us.
