What country the US was the most influenced by?
Was it the UK
and why?
PS I see a lot of American cities’ names sound British i.e have the exact same/similar names as British cities
If it wasn’t the UK, what country it was and why?

Part of what is now the modern USA was once a British colony [the 13 states in the North-Eastern part of the modern US]. Many settlements were named after where the settlers originally came from for instance Boston, Cambridge, Greenwich, Plymouth and Rochester The British Boston is a market town in Lincolnshire, in the English East Midlands. New York is named after the Duke of York, its first Governor.
