What is the period of the wave while Aaron is surfing if the wave propels him toward the beach with a speed of 5.0 m/s and the wave crests are 2.0m apart?

    period T = d / V = 2 m / 5 m/sec = 0.40 sec 

    frequency f = 1/T = 2.5 Hz

    waves don't propel you, waves are circular motion in the water. They do cause you to move when close to the shore as the circular motion is modified by hitting the bottom, but that motion has little to do with the wave velocity.
