Do heavier trucks take bumps better than lighter trucks?

A heavy duty truck that is empty will be very rough.

A light duty truck that is so fully loaded that the suspension 'bottoms out' will also be very rough'

A snub nosed truck with the cab and driver above the wheels will also be rough.

But yes, the wheels will go up and down over the bump and the heavy mass including you will not move much.

Even though weight is a factor, the stiffness of the suspension system is the real contributor.
