How to deliver an urine sample? ?

Question

My doctor thinks I have urinary tract infection and told me to bring an urine sample to the doctors office.

There are things I wonder about and forgot to ask the doctor about. I wonder if the sample has to be delivered "fresh" or it can be delivered after some time after it has come out.

It has to be collected clean catch, look that up, in a sterile container and fresh. Can’t they have you leave one in the office?
