Hi i can view photos on my samsung tv using a usb flash drive (DCIM file) but i cannot play a video any ideas please?

Not all video files play on TV. Even with the common ones like AVI, MP4 and MKV, some of their sub-types don't play on the TV too. Then again, the file size of the video might be too big for the TV to handle. Lastly, the USB drive you're using may be too big, too fragmented, too slow, or corrupted that the TV rejects it outright.
