It is called Christmas but Christ is cut out by those who do not believe in God or are not religious.

I used to think 'Xmas' was just an abbreviation. But it turns out we've been using that word for centuries. It's a writing abbreviation The X comes from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter in 'Christ' when written in Greek.
It's similar to 'ye' meaning 'the' in writing or printing in centuries past. Nobody -said- 'ye', it was just a convention in writing, a shortcut.
