English borrows words from other languages rather freely ... thus, virtually any borrowed word fits that description

Well, most plurals are formed by adding an "s" to the word, but there are some holdouts that form the plural differently, such as "children", "deer" and "octopii".
There are also strong and weak verbs. Weak verbs form the past tense by adding "ed" at the end. Strong verbs change the form of the word itself to indicate the past tense, such as "see/saw", "sleep/slept" and "get/got". Over time, verbs tend to go from strong to weak.
These are examples of non-standard words.
