Its beef from the belly of a steer / cow, generally roasted low & slow [pot roasted].
Sometimes its 'smoked' for a long time to get a good 'crust' on it.
Yes, Its delicious on sandwiches, Yum!!

Brisket is a cut of meat from the lower chest of cattle. It does make a good sandwich.

Brisket is the muscle between the front legs of cattle. It has a lot of connective tissue, so you have to cook it very long and very slow and in liquid, covered .. and it turns out wonderfully tender. Excellent for making sandwiches. Excellent as leftovers, and fresh out of the oven too.
Be forewarned. That piece of brisket that you buy will shrink almost in half by the time it is done cooking.

The attached website shows the different cuts of beef. But keep in mind that a Brisket and a Corned Beef Brisket is too different things. A corned beef brisket is quite tough and requires boiling and/or baking. A Brisket is often steamed.
Brisket makes wonderful sandwiches, better hot sandwiches.

It is a cut of beef from the underbelly. it is boneless so is easier to slice than beef from the bone, so is good for sandwiches. In a sandwich have a little horseradish sauce or mild mustard pickle [aka piccalilli] or sweet pickle, and some green salad with tomato. Use wholemeal or granary bread for the sandwich and not to much butter or butter substitute.
