Is life really "too short"?

I keep hearing this phrase lately. "Life is too short" 

Is it really?

One has no idea it one will be alive the next day or not 

 So  it means don't waste your life.

Yes, it's all fun and games until you wake up one day and think what do I have left, 20 maybe 30 years? From then on time moves faster.
