A boat, with a maximum speed of 9.10 km/hr in still water, is attempting to cross a river. Assume that the water flow is uniform, at a rate 3.21 km/hr and that the boat's direction leads it to land directly across from its starting point. (See figure.)
How much time will the trip require if the river is 0.627 km wide?

t = x / Vx = 0.627km / 9.10km/h*cos20.7º = 0.0736 h
or 2.21 minutes
