Is there really a place in West Midlands. England, called The Black Country, or is this a racist, far right myth?

    It is called the Black Country because of industrial smoke and coal a long time ago. 

    It is unfortunate that so many people think anything with the word black is always about race. Coal is black.

    Yes there is, but it's not as big as the Black Hills of Dakota.
