Why are regions closer to the Equator always lower class and less educated, even within a single country?
USA, China, India, Italy, Brazil, pretty much any country that is large enough shows significant discrepancies between north and south. Does it have something to do with the sun? Has anyone else noticed this?

Have you ever taken a basic anthropology course or read a good book on the subject? The reasons for what you've observed are pretty straightforward and even predictable. Think about the pressures on a population due to cold weather. Think about the agrarian issues. Think about food production and preservation and the necessity for shelter. You're very likely intelligent enough to figure it out without having to read a book or study the subject, but if you're really curious about cultural anthropology I recommend it.
