They are disordered in their foundations. And therefore can’t understand that there is an individual human mind beyond their own that also has an ego and emotions and needs similar to their own and needs to be respected. They can’t comprehend that.
So they wouldn’t understand what happiness or sadness is because they can’t compare it with others since others feelings don’t matter to them.
For narcissists, even the word itself doesn’t exist because they are deluded and don’t seem to accept that there is something wrong with their personality. So the word loses its meaning.
Try to convince a narcissist of NPD, they won’t believe you or accept the notion even if they are clinically diagnosed.
