    I support legalizing it.

If a grown *** adult wants to ruin their brain/life then that's their prerogative.

There's way too many people in prison for drugs. There are people doing 5+ years for drug offense. That's absolutely ridiculous and it shouldn't be that way.

As a result of the War on Drugs in the US the prison population has gone from 200,000 in 1970 to well over 2,000,000 in 2020.  Progressive governments have legalized ALL drugs and created programs for people who want to kick the drug habit.

Prohibition doesn’t work. It didn’t work with alcohol, and it’s not working with drugs. Making something illegal doesn’t make it go away. It only makes it harder to regulate. It shouldn’t be up to the government to decide what people put in their bodies. They can punish people for crimes they commit, but drugs alone shouldn’t be a crime. Drugs would be so much safer if they were legal. Meth would be made in labs by chemists, heroin would be packaged with a list of ingredients and potency. Users would know exactly how strong it is and what it’s cut with. The only reason some drugs are illegal is because the pharmaceutical companies want people to do THEIR drugs. Well it makes no difference if it’s prescribed by a doctor, drugs are still drugs. All those anxiety meds, ADHD meds, opioid painkillers, and so many other pills are just legal highs. Many have nasty side effects and cause more harm than heroin or coke. The only drug that’s 100% safe is marijuana. But the government shouldn’t be the health police. Adults should be free to make their own choices. We don’t need to fill up prisons with non violent drug offenders.

Not really I mean If heroin, meth and cocaine were cheap and readily available those that use them would be dead in a few years. That might be a plus.

I support drug legalization because I liken it to prohibition.  I think it should be legalized, taxed, and the revenue spent on drug education and rehabilitation.

Absolutely not, liberals want to make heroin accessible for 10 year olds and we can't let that happen.

There are many factors which make drugs illegal.

Firstly, taking drugs has negative effects on the mind. The drug could be cocaine, cannabis or heroin - it doesn't matter what drug you take because they all have bad effects on the brain and body. For instance, when people inhale cannabis smoke into their lungs, this can cause cancer. Cannabis causes users to feel 'high', but in fact this is a delusion.

Secondly, drugs have bad effects on society. For example, cannabis is linked to schizophrenia and can make people paranoid and violent. Heroin users may risk getting HIV or Hepatitis if they share needles with other users.

Drugs are also bad for society due to the crimes which occur in order to obtain money for drugs. For example, if people steal so they can buy more cannabis then this is bad because it harms other members of society.

Thirdly, drugs have a negative effect on the economy. This is because when people use drugs they become less productive and more unwell.

Lastly, drugs are bad for the people who take them. If you use drugs you will become unwell and could risk becoming addicted to it. Drugs can cause damage to organs such as the brain.

In conclusion, drugs are bad for people in a wide range of ways and this means that they should be illegal.
